This policy describes how POTS Screen (the "app"), which includes a Wear OS watch app and an Android phone app, collects, uses and stores information.
INFORMATION THE APP COLLECTS
Heart-rate readings from your watch's sensor.
Step counts and activity data from your watch.
Heart-rate alerts, which are recorded when your heart rate rises while you are at rest.
Standing-test results, including the heart-rate readings taken during each test.
Symptoms, ratings and notes you add to a standing test in the phone app. These are stored on your phone only.
Your date of birth, which you enter during setup.
HOW THIS INFORMATION IS USED
To display your charts, history and trends.
To run the standing test and compare your heart-rate increase with commonly used screening thresholds. Your date of birth determines whether the teen or adult threshold applies.
To notify you when your heart rate rises without a matching increase in activity.
HOW YOUR DATA IS STORED
All of the information above is stored only on your watch and paired phone, in each app's private storage.
Data is transferred directly between your watch and phone over the Wear OS connection (Google Wearable Data Layer). It is not sent to the developer or to any third party.
The app does not require an account and does not display advertising.
Automatic cloud backup is turned off, so this data is not copied to Google's backup servers.
USAGE AND CRASH REPORTS
To help improve the app, both apps send basic usage information (for example, which features are used) and crash reports to Google Firebase through Google Analytics for Firebase and Firebase Crashlytics. These reports include standard device details such as device model, Android version and approximate region. They are linked to a random identifier for each installation, not to your name or any account.
No health, medical or other sensitive information is included in these reports.
Retention: On the Storage screen, you can choose how long heart-rate, step and alert data is kept.
Deletion: On the Storage screen, you can clear heart-rate, step or alert data, or delete data recorded before a chosen date.
Export: You can export a copy of your data, including CSV files and standing-test results, to keep or share as you choose.
Standing-test results are not affected by the retention and deletion settings. They remain on your devices until the app is uninstalled.
Uninstalling the app removes all of its data from that device and stops any further usage or crash reports from it.
CHILDREN
The app is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children.

CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
Updates to this policy will be included in the app and posted on the app's website, and the "Last updated" date above will be revised.
